Have You Tried Scrapbooking Software Yet?
July 3, 2006
Have you considered using scrapbooking software but are hesitant to try? I know I was. I put off my purchase for quite a while but was pleasantly surprised when I recently bought Scrapbook Factory Deluxe. This program has greatly exceeded my expectations and really comes with many more features than just the ability to create scrapbook layouts. Of course, I was concerned with the quality of the pages and was curious if something would be “lost†from the scrapbook in creating pages with digital images rather than the traditional paper crafting.
How To Make A Paper Bag Scrapbook
July 2, 2006
Paper bag scrapbooks are really popular now. Their small size makes them great for gift giving, for display on a coffee table, or even just as a “brag book”. They are made by using paper bags (you know the brown lunch kind) and are of a smaller size than the larger scrapbook albums, usually 5 x 5 inches. Since the paper bags are not acid free, it is important to only use copies of your photos. You can get duplicates made of your photos from your photo processing center or even make copies of photos on your home printer.
Are Your Kids Saying, “I’m Bored?” Teach Them Some Sewing Skills This Summer

I’ve been sewing since I was a teenager and still do. Over the years I’ve made everything from curtains to quilts - even the purses I carry. Summer has barely begun, even so you’ve probably already heard, “I’m bored.†So, why not introduce your older children to sewing while teaching them a skill they will use the rest of their lives.
I encourage parents to not only teach their daughters but also include their sons in sewing lessons. My son used to ask, “Why don’t you show me how to use the sewing machine?†He’s always interested in what I’m sewing and eager to participate. Really, he’s not particularly unusual, since so many famous fashion designers are men.
