Practical Gifts For the New Mom To Be

We’ve all been to baby showers where everyone ooh’s and aah’s over the adorable gifts the Mom to be receives and she deserves them! But there are practical gifts that the new Mom will need and appreciate down the road when her baby has arrived. These gifts may not get the “Oh how cute†reactions but they are desperately needed!
1- Diapers – any Mom knows you can never have enough diapers and they can get expensive! If you’d like to give this practical gift but with a twist, a decorated diaper cake makes a beautiful presentation of a much needed gift!
2- Humidifiers – Babies always seem to get sick in the middle of the nigh and not during the pediatricians office hours. A humidifier is a much needed staple for any baby’s room! At 3:00 in the morning when baby is coughing a humidifier will save the day!
3- Gift certificate for photo sessions – All new parents take hundreds of pictures of their babies. Give a photo studio gift certificate for those first holiday or first birthday pictures. This is a gift you know will be used and appreciated and save the new parents some money!
4- Picture Frames – for all those photos new parents take of their precious baby – they will need frames to put them in. For an added touch, have them personalized or custom made to match babies room.
5- Photo brag books – all those new photos need to be displayed outside the home as well. Brag books are now available in beautiful silk fabrics with personalization
6- Crib Sheets, Burp Cloths and Bibs – there isn’t a new Mom that can ever have enough of these staples! Newborns constantly spit up, wet thru their clothing and need to be burped. The larger supply a Mom has will come in handy when the laundry is just so backed up. Bibs with velcro are the easiest to use!
7- Socks – Little one’s grow out of their socks and booties so fast! Socks in larger sizes will be most helpful to a new Mom. Make sure the elastic is not too tight for babies legs.
8- Clothes in larger sizes – let’s face it – newborn clothing is adorable but how many times is a newborn going to wear a fancy dress or outfit? Buy those types of gifts in larger sizes.
9- Convertible Crib Bedding – there are many designers that now offer bedding that converts from the crib to a toddler bed. Saving parents the expense of new bedding is a gift that will definitely be appreciated.
10- Baby Bath & Body Gift Sets – including shampoos, baby bath soap and lotions. These are essentials that you know will be used and a new Mom never wants to run out of.
